The transition to supported living can be challenging for anyone, but for many older Australians, maintaining their faith is almost impossible in the context of aged care.
After Sunday Mass at St Anne’s Church in North Fremantle, a team of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion take the time to share the Eucharist with those who wouldn’t normally be able to receive it, including residents at Regis Aged Care.
In addition, an Oblate Priest visits the facility each month to celebrate Mass, and to provide the Sacraments of Confession and Anointing of the Sick. These Sacraments are also made available to residents at other times on request.
The coordinator for St Anne’s Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion is Mary Davis, who can be contacted through the Parish Office.
